What the? Weekly Weigh-In

I got back this afternoon from one of the absolute craziest road trips I have ever been on with my friend Janelle. Janelle and I worked together and lived about 1/8 of a mile from each other at Young Life's Washington Family Ranch in Antelope, OR. Janelle is now the housekeeping supervisor at Young Life's Crooked Creek Ranch in Frazer, CO. Janelle was in the area for a few days visiting some family but was needing to head up to Rockbridge yesterday for some training. Of course we thought it would be fun to road trip together and man were we right. There is a long story involved including issues with car tires (yes more than one!) However the story will have to wait til a later time.

However I wasn't feeling great about how my week went and how crappy the intensity levels of my work outs were this week. So I was not expecting to lose anything. However I lost two pounds! So surprised. Only one more pound til I hit 65 on the program and 70 overall! Eeek! 70 pounds!! So excited!

Another Round Of My Too Big Clothes

There are some down sides of losing weight. One being that I have less body fat to keep me warm. Bummer. Another one is none of my clothes fit. Yes it is great that I've lost weight and that is why they don't fit versus me gaining weight and that is why they don't fit. But when you can't really afford to buy new clothes and/or you don't want to buy new clothes because you are still losing...that my friends is the real bummer in all of this. Most of my clothes are in great shape still so if you want any of the clothes in this blog update (or previous updates) let me know and I will gladly pass them off to you. Side note - all my pants have been hemmed so unless you are about my height (which is doubtful) you will end up with funny looking capris. On that note, like previous blog updates about clothes, Young Life friends - I am not too proud to ask for any area tshirts that you are willing to send me if you are a volunteer or on field staff. Property staff friends, I will gladly accept any current or old property tshirts from the camp store or lost and found auctions. Same go for sweatshirts. I am not too proud to ask for such things. I will pay you in a thank you note and a hug. Or in money if you prefer. And thanks again to Lynsie McDaniel who sent me some pretty awesome shirts the last time I updated the blog about clothes with such a request. And a special thanks to Kory and Sara for sending me shirts from the WFR dollar sale for Christmas. Some of those shirts I've already shrunk out of! I am currently wearing smalls, but have 23 pounds to go and guessing I'll be wearing extra smalls when I get to my goal weight.  So in case you're wondering, I would gladly except either size for tshirts and smalls in sweatshirts! No pressure though!

Old pants on the left - size 6. My sister-in-law, Amber, gladly
passed off her size 4 jeans (on the right) to me. Thanks Amber!

Medium workout clothes. I'm pretty much a size small in
just about everything now. Definitely exciting.

Four medium tshirts. The bottom two shirts are from
the WFR camp store. The top right shirt Kory and Sara
picked up for me at the WFR auction/dollar sale. These
four shirts are my last tshirts from WFR/Oregon. Very
sad for me for sure. I hated taking them out of my rotation!

Green WFR hoodie and Capernaum hoodie. Both medium.
Last WFR & Capernaum items to be taken out of my wardrobe.
Another sad fact. Real sad. The green hoodie has already been
claimed by my niece, Abby.

Green sweater from Old Navy and brown and white striped
sweater from Gap. Both medium.

One long sleeve (maroon) tshirt from Old Navy and three
short sleeve tshirts from Target.

Four medium tanks from Target.

A very full bin!!

This is it for now. I'm sure I'll more pictures will be coming before too long. Thanks for stopping in. And for those of you who are wondering - work is getting better! I'm getting the hang of things and slowly feeling like I'm learning my way around and knowing my place. More later, I'm sure.

Bah Humbug.

I'm grumpy. I've been grumpy all day. I can't seem to get out of this funk. I know why I'm grumpy, but I don't know why I'm this grumpy and why I can't seem to get out of this unpleasant mood. At the end of last week I got news that I did not get another YL property job that I applied for and really wanted. That's been weighing on me today. I'm really tired of being told no for jobs in general, but especially to those that I really want. Don't get me wrong, I am excited that I have this part time job at the clinic and super thankful that they thought of me and hired me. However this is not my dream job. It's not full time and it's not Property Staff. I think part of me (a really big part) is scared of getting stuck in a job that is just so-so in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love the clinic and the staff there. I love the mission of the clinic. It really just boils down to the fact that it's a transition job and I know that from the start. I think the bad mood has also something to do with this messed up weather. One day it's warm and sunny the next day it's freezing the next day it's raining and warm and today is overcast and cold and tomorrow is suppose to be sunny and 78. I'm feeling a bit stuck. I'm feeling like I'm never going to get to my goal weight. I feel like I'm never going to get the job I want. As I write this, I have tears in my eyes and I'm trying not to cry because I just feel so discouraged. So stuck. This journey is hard and I'm ready for it to be done and over.

Tonight I am taking pictures of clothes I've shrunk out of. They will be posted in the next few days - hopefully. Thanks for letting me vent y'all.

Goodbye 130's! Hello 120's!

It has been a crazy week. I worked, dogsat, worked out, cleaned out my 91 year old Grandma's townhouse and lost two pounds this week! I was one ounce shy of losing three pounds this week, but I'm still great with two. When you weigh in, the scale shows your pounds and your ounces. If you are weighing in with 1- 7 ounces, they round you down. If you are 8 ounces or up, they round you up. I weighed in at 128lbs and  8 ounces so they rounded me up to 129. That was a bummer, but as long as I loose atleast one ounce, this week, I'll loose a pound.

The good news in all of that is that I am officially out of the 130's and into the 120's! Goodbye 130's - you will not be missed! I have lost 61 pounds on the program and 66 overall!

For those of you new to the blog, for every 10 pounds I lose on this program, I treat myself to something not food related. This time around I had a tough time choosing between a book I really wanted and Twilight Breaking Dawn Part II. Well, after waiting for what felt like forever, I finally got the book from the library! So I went with the movie! I saw this movie in theater in December with my friends Stacey and Terresa. I now have all of the Twilight movies on DVD! Love it!

Swimmertainment

Well it's about dang time that I updated with some swimmertainment for y'all. If you are new to the blog, swimmertainment is the every-so-often update with ridiculous stories or lessons learned while swimming laps at the local Rec Center. A few things I've learned thus far:

1. The locker room has a lot of naked old ladies...as in 65 and older. They have no problem be naked and having conversations with random strangers while they blow dry their hair half bent over in a hand dryer.

2. The lane dividers will try to eat you...or really they will just re-break your already broken pinky finger.

3. If you are short, don't try to swim as fast as your super athletic, tall, fast swimming friends in the next lane. It doesn't work. Yes, I'm talking about you, Rob O'Donnell. For every one of Rob's strokes, I had like six. Killin' me.

4. There is always someone swimming in an inappropriate bathing suite. If you are not on a swim team, guys please do not wear a speedo. Gals, bikinis are not for lap swimming! Just sayin'.

Here's my swimmertainment story for this post. It was about a month or so ago that this story took place. I was coming out of the pool area and into the locker room. As I was walking across the locker room I hear someone come in the opposite door and head to the restroom. Not a big deal. I get to my locker and as I'm pulling out my stuff to change, I stop to take a sip of water from my water bottle and this gal comes waling out of the bathroom stall and I could almost not believe what I was seeing. The gal is in her mid-40s atleast and she is walking into the locker room area with her hunter green corduroys unzipped and unbuttoned, pulled down to her mid thigh, underware is nowhere to be seen. She's got like 4 huge bags in her hands, crazy big hair, and the loudest pair of boots I've ever heard. And she suddenly stops in the middle of the locker room, bags in hand and pants down, she starts belting out "And I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive, carved my name into his leather seats. I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights, slashed a hole in all 4 tires. Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats!" Really Carrie Underwood? Well aren't you a diva! Now miss diva, would you mind pulling up your pants and take your singing to the bar for karaoke night? Great, thanks. I seriously was like, "Did that just happened?" I gave the gal next to me that look and she gave it right back. I definitely had a good chuckle at that image often since it has taken place. That gal was some kind of bold.

Hope you enjoyed this installment of swimmertainment!

Weekly Weigh-In

Okay I know I promised more updates soon with things like Swimmertainment, more pictures of clothes I have shrunk out of, and the like. Clearly I have not delivered. I'm gonna stop promising so I don't feel so bad when I haven't done any updates in between Tuesdays.

I was really hoping to lose two pounds this week so I would be at 60 pounds on the program and 65 overall and I could reward myself with something. Alas I lost one this week so I'm at 59 on the program and 64 overall. Next week. I'm pretty sure I've decided on my next reward, but I'll get to that next week. I'll keep y'all waiting/guessing!

I'm feeling good about where I'm at. I'm officially in all small clothes. No more larges or mediums! My mom treated me to a new (non-lap swimming) bathing suit. Both pieces are small. I also got a new dress and sweater that are both smalls are well. For those of you who don't know, I was offered a part-time job at the clinic I go to. So far I'm only scheduled like four days in the next three weeks, but I'll take it. The new dress and sweater are for my first day on Thursday! Yay!

Weekly Weigh-In

I know I need to do some serious updates than numbers, but it will have to wait a little while longer. Life has been busier than normal. However I dropped two pounds this week! I have dropped 63 pounds overall. I weigh 132. I cannot remember the last time I weighed 132. High school maybe? Atleast 10 years ago! I am almost in the 120s!! That will feel so good!!

I saw my friends Tim and Nikki the other night for the first time in months. The first thing Tim said was "Woah! It's the incredible shrinking lady!" Tim and Nikki didn't know that I was on this journey. It was fun to see their reaction.
