Weekly Weigh-In

Okay so I know I promised pictures of clothes I have shrunk out of and a swimmertainment post, but this week was busier than expected. This weekend we had a great weekend of fellowship with our Young Life Region at our annual Committee/Leader Weekend. I feel like we need to space out out Region's Prayer Overnight and our Committee/Leader Weekend - these are the only two weekends I get to see some of my friends all year. I, yet again, returned home from a Regional weekend with a cold. Commonwealth Region - you're killing me! Please stop giving me your germs.

It was great to be with friends this weekend and have a little more time to catch up. And, of course, to receive wonderful, encouraging comments on my progress. I jokingly told a few folks in the Region that more than anything, I would love an area tshirt from y'all's area. I have running out of clothes that fit and buying new clothes is expensive. So friends who read this across the country (or globe), if you are looking to help a sister out, I would love to have one of your area tshirts from this summer. If you are in property staff, I would love a tshirt from your camp. I currently have one property tshirt (WFR) that fits and that won't be the case for long. I am just getting into smalls now and I have 34 pounds to go. So if you are thinking about it now, an extra small or small would be awesome. And clearly I do not have a problem asking!

I am down another pound this week. I am happy with that seeing that I have been out of town and out of routine and sick this week. I am officially (and barely) in the 130s. 51 lbs down on this program (56 overall) and 34 more to lose.

A Great Weekly Weigh-In

I was pretty bummed last week when I gained one. I know I was sick and that the meds made me retain water. Whatever I was still bummed. I think I am allowed to be bummed....atleast for a short period of time. Had to move on. This week I was super determined to lose weight. I worked dang hard. Burned 8000 calories in exercise. I wanted to lose 3 this week so I could get to an even 50 on this program and 55 overall. And I lost exactly 3! Heck yeah! I landed at exactly 140. The best part about this all was that I hit 50 on this program AND I did not have to move down to the next lower calorie bracket for physical activity. They have this chart for us to use to calculate how many calories one would burn per minute. It is based on weight and intensity. So if you are doing a medium intensity work out (like going for a walk or bike ride) and you weigh between 140 - 159, you would burn approximately 5 calories per minute. However once you get below the 140 weight point, you jump down to the next weight bracket which is 120 - 139 and for medium intensity work outs, you would burn 4 calories per minute. The less you weigh the less you burn. It is a love hate relationship - love that you weigh less, hate that you have to do more to burn more. Sigh. Such is life.

As you may remember, for every 10 pounds I lose on this program, I treat to myself to something special. In the past, I have treated myself to some cute earrings my friend Katie made. Check out her stuff at One Delightful Button. I have also treated myself to a Blake Shelton Christmas cd, and season 1 & 2 of Friday Night Lights. About a month or so ago, I found these super fun earrings on etsy (Sorry Katie!). Some friend of mine turned me on to The IT Crowd. If you have not seen The IT Crowd, you need. Go put it in your Netflix Instant Queue. Right now. The British television show is about this small IT Department at a company. Definitely worth checking it out. Anyways, back to these earrings. If you are an IT Crowd fan, you will get these earrings. They are Moss earrings. Unfortunately I have not found Roy or Jen earrings like these yet, just Moss. I showed Meghan, my health educator, these earrings last week and promised not to wear them til I hit 50 pounds on this program. So when I first saw her tonight and I had them on, she did not even have to ask, she knew I had hit my goal. Commonwealth Region friends, be prepared that I will be wearing them ALL weekend this weekend!



Also I cleaned out my closet and put aside all of the clothes that are too big. Be prepared for pictures. Also I have a swimmertainment story from this weekend - brace yourself. I will post more soon.

Rough Week And Weigh-In

As you know last week we had the Commonwealth Region's Prayer Overnight with 1200 staff and volunteers from our Region. So great. However I came home sick (not a shocker seeing that I spent the weekend with 1200 people in the beginning of February). That cold turned into a sinus infection and a z-pack was an answer to prayer. Or so I thought. I spent the whole week tired and mostly in bed. One of the more brutal sinus infections and colds of my life. Little did I know that z-packs make you retain weight and water. Last week I weighed in at the clinic at 142lbs 6oz and this week I weighed in at 142lbs 12oz. If you are above 8oz of a pound the round you up and if you are 8oz or below, they round you down. So even though I gained less then a half pound, because of where the ounces were, according to the clinic I gained a pound. I am so bummed. This is the first week I have gained since I have been on this program. I am so close to losing 50lbs on this program, 55 overall. If I hadn't been sick this week and on the z-pack, I could have probably hit it. Now I have 3lbs to lost to hit that number. Let's pray it happens this week!

Weekly Weigh-In

What a crazy week. I had the privilege of being apart of a 1200 person crowd praying for the mission of Young Life at YL's Rockbridge Alum Springs. Now I have a cold. Thanks Commonwealth Region Family. On the bright side I lost three pounds this week. Sorry this picture is blurry...too tired to try again.
