I was pretty bummed last week when I gained one. I know I was sick and that the meds made me retain water. Whatever I was still bummed. I think I am allowed to be bummed....atleast for a short period of time. Had to move on. This week I was super determined to lose weight. I worked dang hard. Burned 8000 calories in exercise. I wanted to lose 3 this week so I could get to an even 50 on this program and 55 overall. And I lost exactly 3! Heck yeah! I landed at exactly 140. The best part about this all was that I hit 50 on this program AND I did not have to move down to the next lower calorie bracket for physical activity. They have this chart for us to use to calculate how many calories one would burn per minute. It is based on weight and intensity. So if you are doing a medium intensity work out (like going for a walk or bike ride) and you weigh between 140 - 159, you would burn approximately 5 calories per minute. However once you get below the 140 weight point, you jump down to the next weight bracket which is 120 - 139 and for medium intensity work outs, you would burn 4 calories per minute. The less you weigh the less you burn. It is a love hate relationship - love that you weigh less, hate that you have to do more to burn more. Sigh. Such is life.
2.19.13 Day 151, Lost:3 Total:50, Weight: 140
As you may remember, for every 10 pounds I lose on this program, I treat to myself to something special. In the past, I have treated myself to some cute earrings my friend Katie made. Check out her stuff at One Delightful Button. I have also treated myself to a Blake Shelton Christmas cd, and season 1 & 2 of Friday Night Lights. About a month or so ago, I found these super fun earrings on etsy (Sorry Katie!). Some friend of mine turned me on to The IT Crowd. If you have not seen The IT Crowd, you need. Go put it in your Netflix Instant Queue. Right now. The British television show is about this small IT Department at a company. Definitely worth checking it out. Anyways, back to these earrings. If you are an IT Crowd fan, you will get these earrings. They are Moss earrings. Unfortunately I have not found Roy or Jen earrings like these yet, just Moss. I showed Meghan, my health educator, these earrings last week and promised not to wear them til I hit 50 pounds on this program. So when I first saw her tonight and I had them on, she did not even have to ask, she knew I had hit my goal. Commonwealth Region friends, be prepared that I will be wearing them ALL weekend this weekend!
Also I cleaned out my closet and put aside all of the clothes that are too big. Be prepared for pictures. Also I have a swimmertainment story from this weekend - brace yourself. I will post more soon.
